Federal Tax Credits on qualifying, high-efficiency HVAC equipment continue through December 31, 2011!
What is included in the tax credit?
The current tax credits are up to 10% of the installed cost for qualifying equipment that meets certain efficiency levels, up to $500. These credits are for work done before December 31, 2011 at an existing home that is your principle residence.
Natural gas, propane or oil furnaces can earn a credit of up to $150. Furnaces that have an advanced main air circulating fan can earn up to an additional $50.
Central air conditioning units can earn a credit of up to $300. Air source heat pumps can also qualify for up to a $300 credit.
