4 Energy Rebates and Incentives in Ohio to Know About

July 6, 2023 by hls_admin

If you are looking for ways to save on your home energy costs, Ohio energy rebates give you the opportunity to reduce your utility bills. Becoming familiar with the programs that are available will help to guide you to the rebates and incentives that are available to people living in the Greater Cleveland area.

Ohio Energy Rebates

Start with these money-saving rebates and incentives:

Duke Energy’s Residential Efficiency Rebate Program – If your home is equipped with a heat pump or air conditioner with a 14 SEER or greater and ECM fan motor, you are eligible for up to $350 back. Geothermal pumps with 10.5 EER and an ECM fan motor also make you eligible.

The Energy Cooperative’s Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program – Heat pumps, water heaters, geothermal pumps and air conditioning systems that are connected to a radio control switch may be eligible for a rebate of up to $599 under this program.

Air-Quality Improvement Tax Incentives – Industrial and commercial buildings that are equipped with solar- or wind-powered HVAC or lighting may be eligible for cash back with this incentive.

Energy Conversion and Thermal Efficiency Sales Tax Exemption – Companies with industrial and commercial buildings that utilize solar or wind power are eligible for a sales tax exemption.

Get Started With an Energy Audit

If you are taking advantage of Ohio energy rebates, you might think that you’ve already cut your utility bills down as much as possible. Unfortunately, you could still be leaving money on the table. The good news is that a home energy audit completed by an experienced HVAC technician can pinpoint the places in your home that are costing you when it comes to heating and cooling costs.

An energy audit involves a walk-through of your home that’s aimed at common problems areas like windows, doors and baseboards. You’ll be given recommendations for beefing up the insulation and making improvements to your HVAC system to improve efficiency.
